Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the College.

Manage the full life cycle search process for all faculty, administrator, managerial, and classified staff positions. Assists with coordination of student recruitment planning and processing.

Facilitate and train hiring managers and committee members on the online application management system to ensure correct utilization and adherence to procedures.

Coordinate applicant flow processes and facilitate methods to continuously improve efficiencies with applicant flow and maintenance to the online application management system.

Coordinate the College's advertisement campaigns including actively promoting diversity and when appropriate attending job fairs.

Participate on search committees to provide guidance and direction to ensure appropriate hiring/selection processes are followed, including training of diversity initiatives and goals.

Lead kick off meetings with hiring managers or search committee chairs prior to recruiting activities for all positions to outline all recruitment strategies and timelines.

Assist hiring managers with setting a recruitment strategy based on procedure, specific job description, core competencies, and qualifications prior to posting open positions.

Complete initial qualified screening of applicants for faculty, administrator, managerial, and classified staff positions to ensure that they meet or exceed the minimum qualifications.

Develop and present communication to College constituency groups on new or changing employment processes.

Perform active recruiting/sourcing for applicants for difficult to fill positions which may include identifying potential resources that would yield qualified diversity candidates.

Assist with employment recruiting projects to develop and implement process improvements.

Responsible for maintaining time to fill statistics for each position under recruitment. Weekly review of activites reported to the team.
Identify and diagnose problems with searches or perform search audits as needed.

Ensure recommendations for hiring for faculty and administrative positions are prepared to be presented to Board of Trustees.

Develop and utlize interview guides targeting behavioral questions on important competencies for all positions.

Partner with compensation to determine appropriate compensation offers for candidates in accordance with established compensation practices and procedures.

Order and coordinate post offer physicals, background investigations and drug screens.

Partner with payroll and HR team to coordinate processing paperwork for new hires, transfers, and terminations.

Responsible for planning and coordination of temporary agency clerical services for campus.

Assess and recommend applicant skills testing for positions when needed and/or requested.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
  • PHR certification through the Society for Human Resource Management preferred.
  • Experience
    • Minimum three years experience coordinating full life cycle recruitment functions along with at least two years of proficiency with an on-line application management system required.
    • Proven knowledge of state and federal employment laws required.
    • Additional HR Generalist experience a plus.


  • Computer, copier, phone, calculator, fax machine, MS Office, Ellucian Colleague and Cornerstone systems.

    Classified 13 Salary
