Position Summary: The Executive Director, Inclusion and Belonging contributes to the College's mission, vision, and values through engagement with and implementation of evidence-based and research-backed methods and practices to support, collaborate, and coordinate with current JCCC teams to further maximize inclusion and bolster diversity, equity, and belonging on campus. The Executive Director will have the opportunity to establish and grow the department as an expert within the field to maximize inclusion efforts across the institution for all potential and current students to achieve their goals.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in diversity and inclusion, education, student success, community college leadership, or relevant field from an accredited college or university required with five years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Extensive knowledge of critical issues of diversity and inclusion, including experience with, but not limited to equitable student outcomes. Record of success in working with and advising various constituents' complex diversity and inclusion needs.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree, certification(s), or advanced training in diversity-related fields. Experience in community college leadership, extensive experience in utilizing data to identify and close equity gaps, demonstrated track record of participative leadership. Two years, or more, of supervisory experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Serves as a campus-wide expert in JCCC's on-going efforts to embrace a holistic culture of diversity and grow an equity mindset. Acts as a resource to college professionals in their work to improve student success in both credit and non-credit settings. Partners with current leaders and teams across campus in evaluating inclusion and belonging goals, programs, and activities; provides feedback and recommendations regarding closing student equity gaps; maximizes access to and utilization of JCCC resources for all students; increases retention and completion rates.
  • Develops strong relationships internally to build trust, credibility, and gain influence. Assists and supports JCCC leaders in planning, developing, and taking action to promote inclusion and belonging.
  • Partners with college leaders in developing and using metrics to measure the effectiveness of JCCC's inclusion and belonging efforts. Research best practices and strategies of inclusion and belonging in leading institutions of higher education and shares findings and/or makes recommendation to the President, members of Cabinet and other college leaders to enhance an equity mindset if appropriate to replicate in JCCC's culture.
  • Participates and collaborates with leaders across campus to embed inclusion and belonging in activities and processes including but not limited to faculty, staff and student education and training; employee recruitment, retention, and promotion; procurement and other business practices; internal and external communication and marketing; any other activity that promotes equity, belonging and enhances cultural competency campus-wide.
  • Works as a resource to support college partnerships in the community that promote equitable student access and success; supports opportunities to work more closely with K - 12, workforce development, and other community partners to improve student success.
