Job Duties:
The Human Resources Information Services (HRIS) Analyst is responsible for delivering new systems and enhancements to support general human resources information services, benefits, compensation, recruiting, and performance management initiatives.

The HRIS Analyst will continuously leverage their business expertise and passion for technology and will work with business and technical teams to close gaps between solutions, design, and user needs. This role is an advocate for end user experience within HR technology solutions and reports to the Executive Director, Compensation and HRIS. This position regularly works with information that requires a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail.

Specific responsibilities include -
  • Providing day-to-day system monitoring and user support utilizing a variety of tools; processing, compiling, and manipulating data for a variety of HR related systems; assisting in the research, escalation, and resolution of HRIS-related operational issues; and providing administrative support to key HR initiatives.
  • Supporting the data and information needs of the HR team and other campus constituents which will include partnering and consulting with campus users to identify HR functional requirements; coordinating testing, communications, and all other facets of implementing new or enhanced functionality.
  • Writing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools; assisting in the development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs; running queries and analyzing data.
  • Managing complex reporting in multiple reporting tools.
  • Operating as a point of contact for campus data reporting requests, triage, field requests, and/or meeting with colleagues to review and understand data/report requests in order to optimize the end result.
  • Managing recurring HRIS processes.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee data.
  • Conducting ongoing data quality checks and integrity of the HR systems through queries, reporting, and data analysis, helping to drive accountability in functional areas.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting issues related to employee personnel actions such as onboarding, new hires, position editing, department transfers, and terminations.
  • Identifing opportunities for improved efficiencies and system enhancements for HR business processes for current and new HR solutions.
  • Providing customer support related to employee self-service and end-user functions; researching, escalating, and resolving issues as appropriate.
  • Assessing informational needs and developing HR reports using Workday report-writing and other data analysis tools; designing reports focused on utility, accuracy, visual presentation, and ease of interpretation for the end user.
  • Partnering with HR staff to evaluate, design, configure, and test functional modifications and enhancements to Workday and other HR systems; supporting the development and planning of new HR systems.
  • Working with the Assistant Director, Human Resources Information Services, to implement and support changes to improve processes for data management and operational improvements.
  • Providing processing support to the HR staff to assist with projects and initiatives.
  • Maintaining and protecting highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Actively contributing to Bucknell's efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community.
  • Supporting and promoting the University's sustainability efforts to protect, maintain, and increase the long-term viability and resilience of the University's environmental, social, and economic support systems.
  • Participating in campus-wide or department-specific strategic projects, committees, and working groups as needed.
  • Performing other duties as required or appropriate.

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (in lieu of education, must have at least 7 years of related experience)
  • Advanced skills using HRIS systems for processing, reporting, and analysis
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative research, and story-telling with data
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential data with accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in using Excel for data management, analysis, and visualization; technical proficiency in relevant applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Human Resources related software to effectively gather, interpret, organize, and present data and information
  • Ability to learn new data analysis software quickly and independently
  • Strong critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to respect highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong written and oral presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and establish trust with campus partners (previous experience building relationships and working with sensitive and confidential information)
  • Strong organizational skills; evidence of self-motivation; demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and work both independently and in teams within a service-oriented organization
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing the need for quality with meeting deadlines
