As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will help lead the design and administration of the full range of compensation programs designed to attract, retain, and motivate the University's staff. You will be responsible for designing innovative and competitive compensation recommendations that align with the University's compensation philosophy and are compliant with all applicable regulations. This individual contributor position supports a broad range of University departments and interacts and provides compensation guidance to all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be able to provide creative solutions to complex issues, and confidently operate as a subject matter expert to the human resource team and University clients. A hybrid work schedule including a mix of in-office and remote work is available for this role.



Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting support for the major areas of compensation including job classification, salary setting, equity adjustments, temporary pay overrides, attraction and retention payments, and FLSA compliance. Research and analyze market data and internal comparators to support the determination of salary and grade levels for a broad range of non-faculty positions. Prepare classification, salary, and title recommendations for presentation to clients by HR generalists. Meet with clients to discuss recommendations as needed; meet frequently with HR client service team and talent acquisition to collaborate compensation service delivery needs. Serve as an internal resource for information regarding standard compensation policies, practices and programs.
  • Assist or lead the data collection process to support ongoing compensation programs (merit increase program, salary budget planning, executive compensation, annual market/equity review) as well as major compensation initiatives and projects. Assist or lead the design of the development and delivery of tools, communications and training that support University compensation programs, policies and projects. Support external consultant-led compensation projects for assigned client areas.
  • Participate in salary surveys and other data exchanges to provide market information needed to support compensation recommendations and to help identify market trends. Work with compensation and human resource staff to ensure that survey positions are matched appropriately. Organize and maintain compensation data such as position descriptions and organizational charts in a document management system. Maintain survey matches in MarketPay.
  • Assist or lead, as assigned, in responding to government related audits. Partner with the HRIS team and the EEO office to ensure compensation data integrity.
  • Manage the intake process for all compensation requests for assigned client areas. Ensure that all proper documentation for requested action is complete. Follow up with clients and Human Resource staff as needed. Provide guidance and education to HR staff and University clients on compensation philosophy, design, concept, and review process.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of Compensation experience is required
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations
  • Ability to work well with multiple, changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong service orientation and sense of urgency in responding to client requests
  • Compensation expertise in design and analytics
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MarketPay
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Compensation expertise in design and analytics for senior analyst level
