Senior Director of Talent Management

Penn State Human Resources is seeking a Senior Director of Talent Management. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources Operations, this position will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and administration of a University-wide talent management program. In this role, the Senior Director of Talent Management works collaboratively with diverse audiences to lead, oversee, and execute strategic goals and objectives that directly align with the University's strategic plan by delivering performance management and professional development strategies. The position will design, implement, and administer talent management strategies and processes, driving employee engagement measurement and action planning to create and sustain a compelling employee experience that differentiates Penn State. The Senior Director of Talent Management will create awareness and drive diverse and inclusive talent management strategies, providing leadership to develop the highest levels of workforce talent and competence in the areas of people development by offering a broad array of organizational development functions, such as leadership development, succession planning, organizational assessments, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement. Primary Responsibilities: Develop a diverse and inclusive talent management strategy that aligns with the organization and optimizes use of human capital to deliver on the University's mission, strategic plan, and priorities. Provide vision, leadership, and guidance to the Talent Management team. Build upon existing and develop new innovative talent management programs and processes to improve the engagement, performance, and movement of talent across the University - which may include facilitation, development and management of performance management processes, coaching, team-building, multi-source feedback, succession planning, and talent reviews. Drive execution of the Talent Management strategy, integrating best practices/trends and performing analysis of effectiveness and competitiveness of existing talent management processes and programs. Provide organizational development and change management support for significant initiatives such as reorganizations, work redesign, and team building and effectiveness. Oversee and effectively execute the development and delivery of strategic leadership programs for all leaders, including executive leadership, in alignment with the strategic objectives of the University. Oversee the development, implementation, and embedding of succession planning practices, talent management, and development programs across the University to enable it to fully utilize the potential of its people and meet future and changing business needs. Establish strategies for identifying, developing, and promoting top talent and high-performing staff and future senior leadership. Ensure learning and development programs embrace new technologies and multifaceted delivery approaches. Develop appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to build accountability, measure results, and optimize the impact of development programs. Work with leaders across the University to assess and identify their talent management and organizational priorities and determine whether to build or buy capability to address respective needs. Will perform other duties as assigned. The Senior Director of Talent Management will need to demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor`s degree required (masters or relevant certification preferred) with 10 years of human resources experience in organizational development or related field. Demonstrated track record of success in talent management solutions. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills with demonstrated experience in managing employees to achieve success.
