Position Summary:
The Executive Recruitment and Search Director possesses experience with senior-level full life cycle recruiting. The ability to partner with President's office, Regents office, Chancellors, cabinet members, senior hiring managers, business partners, chief human resource officers, to facilitate and manage search committees and to assess, identify and attract best-in-class talent to work for the University of California. This individual will be a strategic talent partner to senior executives and fully owns, influences, and drives the executive search for senior level roles (Director and up SMG). The positions that are under recruitment may be located at the Office of the President or any UC location. In addition, the Executive Recruiter serves as back-up to the Sr. Director of Systemwide Talent Acquisition and Talent Management.

The Executive Recruitment and Search Director is a forward and enterprise thinker who can develop proactive strategies to ensure we have the best talent in place. They will also focus on cultivating a broad and diverse talent pool and will develop/drive initiatives and programs to continue building our leadership pipelines.

Duties
1
Fully own and drive the full lifecycle of the executive search process - from partnering with executive management on position definition, search strategy and candidate requirements, to developing recruiting strategies for hiring best-in-class executive talent.

Conduct effective sourcing/recruiting methods using a combination of executive search, direct sourcing, online advertising, referrals and other best practices.

Assess customer needs and prepare candidate profiles, screen candidates and research employment-related issues.
Candidate Sourcing 10 3
Consult and advise senior executives on best practices for effectively recruiting and filling their roles. Listen to customer needs, respond in a timely manner and provide a high level of service.

Partner with HR Business Partners as needed in the consultation of position descriptions and other approval documents needed to initiative the recruitment process.

Screen, qualify and interview candidates ? provide guidance and critical insights through the process.

Use PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system to ensure appropriate EEO/AA compliance.

Manage and facilitate the use of executive search firms for specialized positions and ensure compliance with executive search process is managed.

Facilitate search committees and assist the search committee chair person by preparing materials, facilitating the group and managing the process from start to finish.

Present job offers and negotiate with executive candidates.

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Minimum of 5 years of executive or senior level recruiting experience.

Demonstrated skills to source and qualify executive level candidates.

Experience consulting with executive level customer and partnering.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, diversity and outreach efforts, EEO/AA principles and appropriate application of them.

Excellent writing, verbal communication and counseling skills.

Proficiency with software programs Windows, Word, Excel and ATS systems.

Effective presentation skills to facilitate meetings and search committees.

Experience utilizing an executive search firm to handle a search and the ability to manage them for effective use.

Exceptional ability in building and cultivating relationships with key clients.

Experience providing excellent customer service and follow-through, including listening to customer needs, responding in a timely manner and providing a high level of service.

Strong understanding of executive compensation and skilled in analyzing and reconciling differences/gaps.
Required
Experience with the UC Senior Management Group recruitment process.

Previous experience working in an executive search firm as a recruiter.
