Job Overview

Under general direction, the incumbent provides workforce administration support within the Payroll Services Department. The incumbent's primary responsibility is to maintain personal and employment data in the PeopleSoft HCM database for all CSU employees (faculty, staff, and students). Ultimately responsible for employee life-cycle transaction processing in Peoplesoft to include leave of absences and separations, work schedule updates, employee data security and accuracy, and employee file and HR records maintenance. Incumbent ensures data in the PeopleSoft HCM and the State Controller's Office Payroll System (PIMS) is synchronized utilizing various reports to validate data, identify errors and discrepancies, and reconcile inconsistencies. Incumbent is responsible for providing operational support and addressing escalated customer service inquiries related to employment transaction and non-resident tax administration processing. Incumbent serves as a subject matter expert on the various HR transaction related processes and associated PeopleSoft functionality and addresses moderate to complex and/or escalated issues. Incumbent is also responsible for non-resident alien (NRA) tax administration including assessment, determination, and reporting. Incumbent provides support for audit documentation requests. Incumbent may be required to assist with payroll related duties as necessary to ensure the continuum of work within the Payroll Services Department.

The incumbent applies professional human resources, system-wide policies, and procedures to resolve issues that are moderate to complex in scope and impact where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Independently performs a variety of professional activities related to the processing of employment and payroll related transactions for all California State University (CSU) employees. Intermediate proficiency using office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Intermediate understanding of collective bargaining unit agreements.

Position Summary

Workforce Administration Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Non-exempt)

This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,000 - $4,800 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,518 - $6,791 per month
