Associate Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the CHRO will oversee Human Resources for Saint Mary's and will have a full appreciation and well-rounded knowledge of the related complex issues that affect institutions of higher education. This person will provide strategic leadership and direction in the areas of recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce; benefits and compensation; professional development; employee and labor relations; performance assessment and evaluation; and human resources technology supporting these functions. The CHRO will be the main advisor to College leadership on all human resources issues.
Education Required: Masters in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
Experience: The CHRO will have a significant track record (minimum of 10 years) of successful, progressive and applicable experience as a strategic human resources leader with a sophisticated understanding of the issues affecting higher education institutions. This individual will have a breadth and depth of knowledge in the following HR functional areas: recruitment and retention; on boarding and professional development; employee and labor relations; benefits and compensation; performance assessments and evaluations; and human resources technology.
Skills/ Abilities: Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, disability and sexual orientation of staff, faculty, and students. EEO/employment laws and regulations, conflict resolution, employee or labor relations experience; advanced analytic capability, highest level writing and verbal communications, HR and general technology capability, Requires skill in collaboration, calmness, and professionalism
