Oregon State University (OSU), an internationally recognized, innovative, and mission-driven land-grant and research university, seeks a collaborative, inspiring, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The CHRO will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the university's human resources (HR) functions and partner with the university's leadership team to help shape the future of the university. OSU has also successfully increased revenue from private fundraising, corporate partnerships, research grants and technology transfers culminating in the university's first ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, which exceeded its $1 billion goal nearly a year ahead of schedule. These successes have fueled OSU's rise as a land-grant university for the 21st century.

Now more than ever, the university needs a new leader of HR to re-envision and reenergize the way that human resources is managed and linked to the institution's overall success. The OSU Office of Human Resources provides comprehensive human resources services for OSU's nearly 13,500 employees who work across the state, the nation, and the world. The successful candidate for the CHRO position will be an experienced and innovative HR leader who can help the university deliver world-class human resources programs and services to OSU's dedicated staff and faculty members as they carry out the university's mission. The CHRO reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) and will be responsible for leading, implementing, and managing a comprehensive human resources program. The CHRO will also be responsible for certain academic administrative human resources services, as delegated by, and in coordination with, the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.

Working collaboratively with leaders and human resource professionals across the university, the CHRO will:

• Develop and lead the implementation of an innovative and progressive strategic vision for HR at OSU


• Serve as a trusted and strategic thought partner for leaders across the university


• Further cultivate an aligned and effective human resources unit


• Provide inspirational leadership to a team of human resource professionals committed to excellence and customer service


• Recruit, develop, and retain an engaged and diverse workforce and help ensure an inclusive and welcoming community
