Human Resources Community of Practice is a unit within Human Resources in the Finance and Administration portfolio. Position Summary

University Human Resources (UHR) is looking for two HR Project Managers to be a part of our new HR Community of Practice unit. This is your opportunity to join the UHR team during an exciting time as we expand and enhance HR support at the University of Oregon. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on a variety of projects as we focus on enhancing the relationships and partnerships between UHR and HR professionals in academic and administrative business offices and shared service units.

This unit, which will include a Director and two professionals, will be expected to work collaboratively with the CHRO and UHR leadership team in evaluating and understanding campus HR needs, coordinating cross-functional area projects to address those needs, triaging issues, and guiding appropriate escalation, promoting ongoing competency building for the HR Community of Practice (HRCP) and assisting the HRCP in addressing needs during times of increased volume or complex situations.

This position is based in Eugene with some level of flexibility including the option to work remotely with frequent commuting to campus. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree;
    AND
  • Two years of project management/support experience involving multiple stakeholders and complex project deliverables;
    OR
  • Four years of relevant work experience in project management involving multiple stakeholders and complex project deliverables.

    Professional Competencies

  • Project management, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage details and maintain all elements of multiple and complex projects within firm schedules.
  • Attention to detail in maintenance of complex, frequently changing plans, documents, communications, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and with groups, in-person and via phone and written correspondence;
  • Ability to vary writing and communication style to fit the purpose of the communication and adapt to audience and circumstances.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data and information to various campus stakeholders.
  • Expertise in working effectively and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Track record of adaptability and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and to use sound judgment and initiative, particularly as it relates to handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of multiple methods of project management.
  • Project management experience in a higher education environment and/or in a Human Resources department.
  • Understanding of human resources best practices, rules, and regulations, familiarity with emerging issues in human resources.
  • Understanding of an institution of higher education and related organizational structures, policies, and procedures; emerging issues in higher education; and familiarity with relevant rules, policies, and laws.
