Human Resources Recruiting Specialist (FT)

Effective immediately: (FT) Human Resources Recruiting Specialist in the Human Resources Department – Wilson Graduate Center.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years' experience in the Human Resources field is required. At least three years of experience as a Recruiter and a certification from the Society for Human Resource Management is preferred. Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple candidates, searches, and projects. Must have superior interpersonal, communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to develop strong relationships and authentically connect with internal and external stakeholders. Proven results in staying abreast of trends in technology as they relate to talent acquisition. Must be self-directed and detail-oriented with the ability to independently problem solve and make decisions. Must also work successfully in a team environment in collaboration with various University stakeholders. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge and experience utilizing Oracle products, specifically online applicant tracking is preferred. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Actively and professionally recruit and hire qualified candidates for all levels of employment openings.
  • Work with hiring managers on developing and executing recruiting plans through the completion of position analysis booklets, job descriptions, and job postings.
  • Utilize diversified advertising sources, social networking, and relationship building to attract diverse and qualified applicant pools.
  • Consult with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of the recruiting process and implement enhancements as needed.
  • Track recruiting and hiring measurements to aide decision making on process improvements (e.g., time to hire, cost-per-hire, and applicants per source).
  • Conduct interview/hiring training sessions for hiring managers to strengthen our recruiting culture and improve the candidate experience.
  • Assist hiring managers in preparing interview panels and actively participate in interviews.
  • Process all employment background screenings and results.
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the applicant tracking system.
  • Manage internal electronic budget verification and personnel action workflows.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities and champion streamlined practices, workflows, and metrics.
  • Participate in coaching and employee relations (e.g., conflict resolution).
  • Participate and seek out continuous learning opportunities.
  • Perform other special projects or duties as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.

    Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Travel to other locations will be required at times.
