POSITION:
Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for part-time clinical instructors. The position includes clinical instruction of RN students in a career ladder program where the RN component is one year. The RN students are in the final two semesters of the nursing ladder programs and upon completion, they are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN test. The clinical assignments may be geographically at any one of the facilities throughout the District's service areas and may include day, evening, or weekend hours. The desired start date is August 2018.

Special Qualification: A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.

In its desire to select outstanding faculty members from the largest possible pool of qualified applicants, Allan Hancock College recognizes candidates may have attained expertise in a discipline through a variety of means. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged by the district as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications are encouraged to complete the equivalency form and provide appropriate documentation of their qualifications.

SALARY:
Lecture Rate: $46.98 to $71.93 per hour depending upon education and experience
Lab Rate: $40.91 to $62.63 per hour depending upon education and experience
Activity Rate: $30.23 to $47.18 per hour depending upon education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE
The governing board seeks an individual with these qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing, master's preferred, in nursing.
Direct care experience within the previous five years in the nursing areas - geriatrics, medical surgical, mental health/psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics.
Demonstrated ability to work with and assist students having a great range of skills, motivation, and academic or vocational goals
Demonstrated ability to develop and use resource materials and incorporate current computer technology
Demonstrated ability to work with and assist students having a broad range of skills, motivation, and academic or vocational goals
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
Evidence of sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and community college students and to staff and students with disabilities.

SCREENING PROCESS:
A committee will screen all applications. Meeting minimum qualifications does not assure a candidate an interview. Therefore, it is important that the application be thorough and detailed. Applicants will be assessed on the breadth and depth of education, training, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A limited number of applicants will be invited for an interview at the college at their own expense. All interviewed candidates may be asked to complete job related exercises. The district reserves the right to cancel any appointment or to reassign the area of service, extend time limits, reinitiate, or withdraw the recruitment/selection process at any time. Final candidates may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
