Job Summary
The Maricopa Community Colleges' Senior Compensation Analyst has a district-wide impact who offers practical, insightful, and resourceful solutions to a variety of analytical compensation tasks. As one of four subject matter experts in the Compensation Department, this position provides consultation by administering and implementing job evaluation, classification, and compensation programs for all Maricopa Community Colleges and works with a variety of employees including staff, faculty and leadership.

This opportunity requires a thorough understanding of Compensation and Job Classification program design and principles, administration, compliance, pricing, job evaluation, and quantitative analyses.

Essential Functions
40% - Supports the HR system data review, data integrity, and audit to ensure regulatory compliance. Works with HR operations staff to support and maintain a technology-based delivery system of compensation data and information.
  • Assists in identifying and implementing business process improvements. Develops, maintains, and distributes queries, reports, and other HR information using HCM.
  • Performs job classification reviews using various methodologies and ensures accurate classification of jobs.
  • Ensure jobs maintain a standard and consistent set of responsibilities to reflect the corresponding job classification.

30% - Researches, evaluates, and approves position management requests, salary changes, and other requests. Participate in surveys and conduct market analyses and internal equity studies.
  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to assist with the assessment, development, and implementation of compensation programs; administers the benchmarking process.
  • Participates as a team member with 3rd party vendors contracted for market and job reviews and program improvements.
  • Participates in planning and implementing a newly adopted 5-year Compensation Strategy.

20% - Conducts, and participates in a wide variety of employee analyses for compliance, equity, competitiveness, trends, and assesses effectiveness through employee committees and team projects.

10% - Supports the annual compensation planning and processes as well as compensation and classification projects from design through execution including modeling and project planning, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in human resources or business and four (4) years of advanced full-time professional level experience in compensation administration.

OR

Associates's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in human resources or business and six (6) years of advanced full-time professional level experience in compensation administration.

OR

High School Diploma or G.E.D. and eight (8) years of advanced full-time professional level experience in compensation administration.

Desired Qualifications
A. Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources or Business.

B. CCP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar.

C. Demonstrated knowledge of competitive compensation review and analysis including equity.

D. Experience working in compensation in Higher Education or Public organizations.

E. Demonstrated proficiency in HCM systems (PeopleSoft or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

F. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
