CSU Dominguez Hills is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Compensation Range

$20 - $30 per hour



Position Summary



Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities across all Foundation departments to deliver a memorable candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will research, develop, and implement effective recruitment and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. In addition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist works closely with hiring managers to proactively identify staffing needs, post open positions in the Applicant Tracking system, establish talent pipelines, and ensure recruitment procedures follow Foundation and CSU policies. The specialist ensures a seamless and efficient recruitment process through to the candidate selection phase. Responsible for maintenance of hiring documents, forms, guides, website content, and correspondence related to recruiting.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Collaborates with department managers or hiring authorities to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

  • Ensure a cohesive recruitment process in which all departments utilize the same forms and recruiting documents.

  • Assists with developing an initiative to promote CSUSH student employment within all Foundation departments.

  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods based on the available role, industry standards, and departmental needs.

  • Responsible for the inclusion of DEI initiatives in all recruitment and selection processes.

  • Posts all Foundation positions on the Applicant Tracking site. Maintains and updates the Applicant Tracking system application, questionnaires, and applicant dispositions for reporting purposes.

  • Ensures job postings are advertised on appropriate platforms to maximize visibility.

  • Build and maintain a social media presence as a tool to attract and hire qualified candidates.

  • Identifies opportunities to participate in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.

  • Creates employment branding and marketing materials with the assistance of the Foundation Marketing Coordinator.

  • Provides recruitment guidance relating to the hiring process specific to the type of employment. ( i.e. employment of student, part-time, and full-time staff).

  • Understands screening requirements of sensitive positions in order to proactively advise potential candidates about the recruitment process.

  • Ensures compliance with hiring procedures as outlined in the Foundation Recruitment and Selection Policy.

  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.

  • Schedules interviews; oversees the preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials if requested by a Foundation department.

  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives related to increased recruitment capabilities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Minimum Education and Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or communications required.

  • Minimum of two years managing all phases of the recruitment process.

  • Prior Higher Education experience is preferred but not required.

  • SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is a plus.




Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.

  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

An employee at the Foundation is on an at-will basis and can be terminated by either an employee or the Foundation at any time with or without cause or advanced notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted.
